Meet the Owners
The owners of Crusoe Fishing Adventures, Greg and Paula Barratt, are committed to providing exceptional fishing experiences that create lasting memories for their clients.
When first visiting Vanuatu in 2011 Greg and Paula immediately knew that Vanuatu would one day be their home and, after many years of successfully running large businesses in New Zealand, they sold up and made their dream of living here and running a fishing charter come true.
MEET THE CREW
We know a thing or two about fishing.
You're in expert hands when you jump on board our boat. Our team has been fishing for more years than they can remember, and have won awards and snagged world records to prove it. Crusoe Fishing Adventures has been operating in Vanuatu for the last 22 years. Captain Richard (Dicky) and deckhand Arsen Bongbong (Art) have the experience, knowledge, and enthusiasm to make your next trip to Vanuatu a real adventure you won’t forget.
Captain Richard
From a young age, Captain Richard dreamed of working on the boats and going out big game fishing. His career now spans almost 20 years, and he has worked for Crusoe for 16 of those years! Dicky absolutely loves meeting people and taking them out fishing; he understands and appreciates the economic value that tourism brings to the country and, like all fishermen, he loves the thrill of the catch!!! One of his many career highlights is winning the Record for ‘Marlin on Fly’. When asked what is so special about what he does he replies that every day he gets to come to work and live his passion.
Deckhand Arsen Bongbong
Art has been with us for over seven years and is our lead deckhand on board Nevagivup. He is driven by his passion for fishing and for meeting people. Art will be beside you, helping you catch your dream fish. He is always up for a chat and will ensure that you have a great day out fishing with us.
When you meet Art, ask him to tell you about ‘The Day Of The Big Yellowfin’—the day the waters were brimming with big tuna.
When the crew of Nevagivup are asked what they like to do in their spare time, they both answer in unison ‘Fishing!’
